Sonesta Denver Downtown

We had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff at check-in and check-out were genuinely kind, professional, and efficient making us feel welcome. The housekeeping team was just as friendly and attentive, making sure our room was always fresh and well stocked with plenty of towels and bottled water. We stayed on the 21st floor, which was a fantastic choice for us visiting from Maine. The views were incredible, a perfect mix of the Denver skyline and the beautiful Rocky Mountains in the distance. Waking up to that scenery each morning was a highlight of our trip. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and thoughtfully equipped, including a Keurig for making coffee in-room. Not the best hotel. Our room would not cool off. Maintenance had to come try to fix the air conditioning and it helped a little but we had the air on 66 the entire time and it was usually in the 70s in the room, in winter. Some of the staff was nice, especially the maintenance and house keeping staff. The worst part, and what made the stay worthy of a bad review was the valet. If a hotel is going to basically require valet, the valet needs to be available 24/7. We had a very early flight to catch and when I asked the front desk I was told no one was available and was handed the keys to my rental. I was given inaccurate directions on where the car was in the parking deck. I spent several minutes, at 3 am, walking up and down the parking deck trying to find our car. I’m assuming the hotel o

The hotel is well-located and comfortable. It also has a good onsite restaurant with tasty options and friendly staff. My only complaint is that the hotel put an about $450 hold on my credit card without my authorization. Nobody informed me about this and I don't know what it was for. The hold was removed after a few days and I was not charged, but it shouldn't have been made without notifying me. The staff told me that there would be a $250 hold as a deposit, and this about $450 charge was in addition to that.

Positive: The front desk staff was nice and helpful Negative: The room had no ironing board and the bathroom light was broke. Also the rooms are just a bit old feeling.

They don't have free breakfast and they have no microwaves in their room. I didn't have a bathtub even though I asked for one. They took my deposit and charged me an extra $100 because my room smells like smoke after coming inside from smoking outside. I never smoked in my room. For how much you paying you could get better somewhere else
