SOBO'S Campground

We stayed at SOBOs in August 2025. We cannot say enough good things about this campground! The sites are large and well kept, the views are phenomenal, and its close by Badlands National Park and Minuteman Missile National Historic Site. The owners are terrific people, too. We have a 35' fifth wheel and had no problems getting in or out. Water pressure was great, 20/30/50 amp electric was good. We didn't use the bathrooms but peeked in and they were clean. This is a great place to stay for a night or several days.

My family stayed here twice last summer- once in one of the cabins and once in the campground. Both times were nothing short of amazing! Nate and Lexie are very accommodating to their guests, and go out of their way to make sure everyone is set up and safe. One of my favorite things about staying at SOBO’s is their shower house! It was very clean, spacious, had shampoo, conditioner, and body wash, great water pressure, AND free. Much much nicer than most other shower houses. If you’re looking for a quiet, family friendly place to stay with incredible views, then this is the place for you! Be ready to come as guests and leave as family.

The campground had no shade but it wasn't bad in August! The showers were nice! Well kept gravel road leading to the campground. The campsites have water and electric. We went to the dump station on our way out. This is a great place to have a family reunion or any event. Really. They're going to get up to speed and be crowded before they know it! Very quiet! It's a hike into town though so come prepared.

A year ago we started planning our 3 week RV trip taking our daughter and 2 pups. The Badlands was one of the places to visit. We began our route and looked at possible places to stay. Sobos was that place. I called and spoke with Lexie to pick out our camping site for a 2 night stay. The drive to the campground from the main highway was breathtaking. At Sobos the views of the sunsets and sunrises were spectacular! It is a peaceful, remote campground with amazing views. The entrance is two miles from the paved highway on a gravel road. Nights are very quiet except for the coyotes howling and chattering. My hope is to visit again some day! Dave & Arlene from Ohio

I am so happy we found this gem! Truly amazing experience. Clean bathrooms, and adventure abounds if you like rocks, fossils, agate, peace, calm, quiet- come here. Nate took us for a tour of his slice of heaven and shared his mission and dream of helping other veterans. This place is truly inspiring, and we will be back.
