Snowater Resort

If you rely on Internet to stay in touch with the office or family or even for WiFi calling, don't bother staying here. They will tell you the Internet is OK to check email. And once or twice a day, that is absolutely true. But to rely on it for checking in with the team or office, logging on a site for information, or even using it for WiFi calling to family or for them to reach you, there is a 0% chance of that happening. They have promised guests that fiber will be installed, and that goes back months and months. Staff are friendly and helpful, but not dedicated to making sure WiFi is available. The river is lovely, and the trails are well-manicured. You can certainly get your steps each day without even leaving the property.

The location is wonderful. Surrounded by beautiful forest and big trees. Its right along the river. 30 minutes from skiing or snowboarding. There are several really nice dining options in the area, but nothing fancy. Very family friendly with many activists for the whole family to do. They had at least 2 outdoor play areas for kids. And two clubhouses with pools and jacuzzi. They have a very old log cabin that is open for guests to use for lounging, and gave off a kind of haunted vibe. They have one room in the cabin that is retro and has an old vis TV and shelves of vhs movies you can watch on the sofa. Nice trails to go for walks on along the river. I'd like to start off by saying out of the 23 yrs of owning and swapping timeshares this place is the only one that has had HOT water. You could shower/bath and run dishwasher or washer and still have hot water. Now with that being said let's dig in. |We checked in at 4pm Not min. sooner. We were given 2 sets of keys, map and car pass. I was told that each unit was allowed one car and the pass needed to be placed on mirror. We were assigned unit 1405 in the back. The united was actually better than I expected from reading previous reviews. The Nooksack River was right beside us and you could see a tad bit from balcony or window. Beautiful get away, the facility is dated but there are lots of amenities if your not going to the mountain. 2 pools, 2 hot tubs, sauna, racket ball, tennis, well maintained trains to hike. It was peaceful and quiet, wonderfullocation.. Only down side is that both of us work from home, online they state they have WiFi but I would warn that is a generous statement. We knew it was not going to be high-speed and that there is no cell service, but I did expect when they say wifi that you had s signal allowing you to at least check emails and respond in a timelymanner. This is not the case! It was one bar at best, dropping out every minute or two. We had less than 4Mbps download and less than 0.7 upload speed. We absolutely loved our stay at this resort! There was always something to do: we walked along forest trails, picked mushrooms, enjoyed the fresh mountain air, barbecued, played basketball, badminton, or table tennis, and went to the pool and sauna! And of course, it was a true vacation in a clean, quiet place without the hustle and bustle! We want to come again!
