Slumber Inn

My car broke down in Eden Texas on a Sunday and I was forced to stay until the following day. I was directed to what I was told was the only motel in town, the Slumber Inn.||||I walked up to the front door late that morning and tried the doors which were locked. A lady, later determined to be the innkeeper was sweeping only a few feet away. She didn't acknowledge that I was trying to enter the office. After trying the door again I asked her if she worked there and then if I could get a room. She continued sweeping for several seconds while I stood there. There was no doubt that she was absolutely put out by my request. Her whole demeanor was nothing short of irritated and disgusted. She quoted me a price of I think $56 and I said yes. A millisecond after I said yes she said "cash".

This was a desperate stay for us, since it was late and we needed to stop for the night after a long day. They were friendly, but we had difficulty getting the clerks to understand we wanted Two beds, but we finally did. The room was Clean, but down at its heels for sure. Bedsheets were clean, but had rust stains. Bed was comfortable, but not plush. Carpet needs to be stretched to walls. There was a microwave and fridge in the room, no coffee maker. The inside of fridge was dirty, but we didn't need to use it anyway.

They charge my account twice and then tried to say they didn’t and then treated me like crap. The whole time I was here would not recommend staying at this scam place and proceed to tell me that I was poor and didn’t have the money to stay here they have a brother that runs around the hotel, asking for drinks and beer all hours of the night and we search your truck cooler for beer when you check in they tell you don’t serve him no alcoholic beverages wouldn’t recommend staying at this place.

We stopped in about midnight just to sleep on a long road trip. The lady at the front desk was very nice. The room was clean and decent. It is an older motel, but the bed was comfortable, and I felt safe. We saw NO bugs as a previous person wrote.

we were at this hotel for about 30 seconds before realizing we were NOT staying. bugs everywhere. dirty marks on sheets and walls. when we tried to refund, the girl told my husband the bugs are “seasonal” and “it’s fine”. they said they would refund after trying several alternative routes - and i will edit if they ended up doing so or not. do NOT recommend. 🤢
