Slidell KOA Journey

We stayed here last night for a stop on our route. The campground is really nice, the nicest KOA Journey we have stayed at. It really should be a Holiday. The campground was easy to navigate around, the sites are spacious and level- no leveling needed. We stayed in a pull through Paw Pen site which was convenient for our 2 pups. The bathrooms and showers were clean- great hot water for the shower! The laundry facility was nice and was free. There were many amenities we didn’t use, including a nice salt water pool and pond. We will be back!!

We stayed here in December of 2025 when visiting our son and his wife in New Orleans. After looking at all of the reviews for parks in New Orleans proper, we didn't feel like we would be safe. We also worried about navigating the streets in our 5th wheel. Then I found the Slidell KOA. It was absolutely perfect! The owners were so incredibly nice and helpful. It was an easy 30 minute drive to New Orleans to visit our son. It was nice to retreat to after a day in the city. The sites were very roomy. Employees patrolled the area many times a day. The laundry facilities were great and free. I was able to wash all of our clothes one day, which was perfect because we had been gone for a week at a conference prior to this. This campground was very nice and clean. Beautiful pool area Frisbee golf looked interesting Corn hole Playground for kids Doggy area fenced in, clean and nice Only recommendation is when you arrive it would be very helpful to have a staff member show you to your campsite. This is an excellent campsite just outside of New Orleans . It has everything you need - from excellent and clean shower facilities- laundry and very friendly staff at the store. The pull throughs are well maintained and overall the staff are helpful - polite and friendly- highly recommend for your next visit to New Orleans . Also the campsite is within easy reach of everything you would need in local stores from Walmart to Pigley Wiggle to Lowe's and of course there is a shopping centre with restaurants and clothes shops near by too.

We came here and tent camped with our hounds and everyone was amazing! They were a little hesitant at first with our unique circumstances but they gave us a chance and we are so happy they did. The owners are incredible! And the rest of the staff we got to meet was just as great! The bathrooms with showers and the laundry room were clean and so nice to have! We camped in our tent and have I haven't done that in many years but it was so nice to do with electric and water at the site it was breeze! And there camping sites were so nicely done! While we didn't use them, they also have a beautiful pool and pond! Seriously if you are in the area and looking for a place to camp check them out!!
