Sleep Inn & Suites Emmitsburg

We were working in Thurmont MD and had to stay overnight. Host was very friendly and got us check in quick. Didn't have a big breakfast selection but what they offered was filling. Waffles, cereal, eggs, toast, drink ...

My original review mentioned that the value for money was lacking due to the advertised pool being out of service, as well as the limited breakfast options and food not being replenished during breakfast service. After posting this honest feedback, I received a passive-aggressive response from customer service implying that I had “unruly children” and that a parent was “over-consuming” the subpar breakfast to take food for later. I find it unacceptable for a representative to make such comments simply because I left a negative review. I’ve also included a screenshot from their own website showing that the hotel lists a pool as an amenity, which makes this false advertising

I booked my room on the choice hotels website. I received a rate for my one night stay. I arrived early and was happy to pay the $25 additional cost for early check in bringing my total charge to $212. My credit card was initially charged an additional $150 and subsequently credited $100 so, I was over charged $50. This is theft.

Nice location, friendly staff. Lower amenities than other stays. Pillows are small size and not comfortable. If they stay small there should be at least 4 more on the King bed. Smaller options available for breakfast (no hot food except for one waffle maker machine).

Everyone was helpful and pleasant. |However, we picked the hotel because of the indoor pool. When we checked in there was a sign it was not open because of mechanical issues. I hoped it would be open the next day but was told it would not be open for a long time. I understand it was not in service for a long time. It should not be advertised as having the pool. It was also in the book of services the hotel had that is in each room. The breakfast was the simplest I have seen. We would not have stayed if we knew there was no pool because that is what we wanted for our trip.
