Sleep Inn Sarasota North

We stayed for one night before flying out. Location is very convenient as we were able to walk to the airport. When you walk into the hotel, you are bombarded with a warm, musty smell. The hallways are not clean. The room was subpar. It was relatively clean, but there was a brown splatter of a dried unknown substance on the white curtains. The room was very, very damp. The room did not smell as musty as the rest of the hotel. Basic cleaning (vacuuming etc) in the hallways, for example, does not seem to be important to them, but would greatly improve the customer experience. Front desk was friendly. The pictures are very generous for the actual condition of the hotel. Works in a pinch, especially for being a walkable distance to the airport. But I would not recommend staying for a vacation.

Positive: I loved how clean, Quiet. Reasonably priced it was. Negative: Just 2 very small things just to help management make this hotel perfect. Vacuum the hallways twice a day. And a k 9 crying for its owner in the next room. The owner finally came home and the K9 stopped.

This place looks nothing like the pictures. This place is falling apart. The shower floor was cracked and felt like we were going to fall through, the light in the shower was hanging down which is a huge safety concern, the shower door was not made for that shower and it would not close so after our shower we had to dry off in a huge puddle of water, and it had not been cleaned. There was mildew everywhere. My husband woke up to a cockroach next to his foot. The ceiling had water damage and looked like it was going to cave in at any moment. The AC was terrible, I could not sleep from how hot it was. The TV is not a smart TV so you can’t even hook up Netflix or prime. The room smelled like humidity and mold. This hotel is very deceiving. I usually do not write reviews but I was so appalled at the condition of this hotel I felt that I had to worn others. I’ve stayed at Sleep Inns before this one is definitely NOT a hotel and the room was absolutely disgusting. I was not expecting luxury of course but mold, smoke smell, grim, dirty floors, dust on the towels, remote control covered in tape, rust everywhere, cracks in the ceiling, I could go on and on. I had to switch rooms because not only was the shower full of calcium build up, no water came out. I had to keep my shoes on at all times and still asked for extra towels to lay on the floor to walk on. I could not wait to leave this place. Room was smaller than most hotel rooms I have ever been in. It was very damp and stuffy in the room, no amount of air-conditioning seemed to help dry it out. It wasn't exactly what I would call squeaky clean. The bathroom smelled and the room floor was dirty. On the up side, the location was very convenient, the staff was very friendly, the breakfast was pretty basic but good.
