Skull Island Campground

We were truly surprised how lovely Skull Island Campground turned out to be. The sunsets here are spectacular and the water is picturesque. We saw beautiful birds and fish jumping out of the water. We cannot say enough good about this little gem. The RV campsites are spaced nicely with plenty of room between each. It offers a nice loop to walk for daily exercise. The staff was top-notch and a joy to work with. The facilities were clean and tidy.

Paid for a "premium" spot on the water, $45 a night (water/50amp electric). SO disappointed to find our water front view was a view of the Sequoyah NUCLEAR Power Plant!!! BOOOO!!! Sadly, we booked a week, non-refundable! Lesson learned! :(

Overall, I enjoyed the experience. Traveled up to Cleveland for the Ocoee Cup youth soccer tournament and decided to camp out here. Great views and service! Called ahead to figure out what's the latest I could check in and found out that you can check in any time after 1 pm. If you arrive late, they just leave your check-in papers on their board under the skull flag at the store. They also offer their ice and firewood by the honor system, so if they are closed and you need some, you can simply grab and pay the following day. Quiet time is at 10 pm but it wasn't severely enforced so you could still be hanging around. They had some very clean bathrooms and showers with hot water. The place is also smaller than what it looks like on the map so everything is walking distance. Only complaint

I have stayed at this campground multiple times. I would stay here FT if they didn't shut down in the winter. This is my favorite place to bring my 5th wheel. I have a 40ft 5th wheel that fits just fine. I always stay right next to the water and travel with my dog. The campground is beautiful, clean and safe. The hosts are very friendly. I am unable to fit in the dump area, but they do come around with a trailer to dump your tanks if needed. The only reason I won't be back as much next year is that I am relocating.

This is a very nice upscale play campground it is beautiful in the Summer with the campfires near the water campers and all around just great Management on highly recommend this especially for if you're coming to visit the Chattanooga area and you want some secluded area for camping this is great in the summer
