Spent two nights here as a base camp for some Smith Rock adventures. Not a lot of amenities but the bathrooms were very clean and the sites were well kept.

Found this place by chance on a road trip from NC. $15 camp fee, it said if you needed change ask camp host. I couldn’t find him so just left a $20. Host came by site 15 mins later with my change; how awesome!! Very clean pit toilets, smells nice ( sounds so weird saying that, but it’s true) with trash cans and a dumpster. No water. Slightly disturbing sign about rattle snakes, but good to be aware. Dog friendly, of course keep on leash and pick up after.

Awesome campground. Multiple vault toilets. No showers. Crazy amount of spaces. Wasn’t crowded. Views are sick at sunset. Gravel is smooth and spaces are flat. Lots of owls. Right off 26.

Great place, not too busy and fairly priced, bring cash for payment. Close to Smith Rock, Nice trails just outside the campground, firewood available to purchase on site for $8 a bundle if needed.

BIG RIGS BEWARE! This is a great little campground and was only 25% full when we stayed there for two nights in August 2024. Easy access to Prineville for some cute food trucks and grocery shopping. Nice level sites with solid picnic tables at each spot. Unfortunately it was a REAL challenge getting our 45-foot fifth-wheel trailer out of the campground due to a pretty tight turn at the exit combined with a cattle guard and some large boundary boulders. I think if you were 40-feet or smaller you'd be okay. Definitely 35-feet or less would be fine. PS - We did end up making it out after multiple adjustments - I'm not writing this still stuck in the campground! :-)
