Skip A Way Campground & Resort

Skip-Away Resort has undergone major expansion in the last couple of years, hosting a variety of fully equipped sites for permanents and occasional visitors as well. There are several hundred campsites nestled between the Turkey River(popular for river sports) and Quarry Lake, an 18 acre fully-stocked lake. For those who don't own a camper, there are several modern rentals as well as an authentic log cabin for larger groups. There is a beach, mini-golf, splash-pad, shuffleboard and other activities for all ages. In addition, a 9 hole golf course for adults is across the river. Nearby bike trails satisfy those who want to remain active during their stay. So we gave this another chance the bathrooms were horrible not cleaned once for the weekend no toliet paper and was very nasty. Saturday asked for information for tubing all new people no one knew nothing. Rented a few extra tubes had to make 3 trips back to office as maintenance never opened tube door was very frustrating.

Very nice friendly family oriented Campground resort. Always fun things for the kids and adults to participate in. Is there Lodge has delicious food.

Okay, I haven’t used the RV park. We’ve gone here many times with our children to play on the little beach and in the water park area. There are tables with umbrellas nearby. We bring our own picnic and toys. From what I’ve seen , the visitors (and probably staff, too) keep the area nice and clean. You can’t swim in the pond, but there’s a canoe/inner tube rental place within walking distance in the Turkey River. It’s also close to a nice picnic spot, also within walking distance. Depending on the season, rock hounds will be happy pretty much all along the river. My grandson found the skeletonized head and upper body of a hawk or falcon there. The entire area is great for fossils. There’s also a lot of agate and jasper. Further, Iowa is the Geode State; there are less here than near Keoku

Our kids had a great time on the playground. The hot water in the showers was plentiful as well. There were undoubtedly many more things to do, such as spending time at the spotless beach. This campground has everything we could possibly need, which is great! a good location for camping.
