Customer Reviews
We absolutely loved our little cabin. It was clean and cozy. Nothing fancy but that’s what we like. The surrounding area is absolutely beautiful and the staff was helpful and friendly, especially at the Sexy Goat coffee cart! A special shout out to Tom. He keeps a campfire going for 15 hours a day. He is always friendly and ready to share a great story as he has years of Yellowstone experience. We enjoyed every second. We usually stay in Cooke City but we will forever be Silver Gate cabin folks!
We stayed in September 2025. We got there at dark and the flood light didn't work. The window was left open, the heat was off and it was very cold. It took hours for the cabin to heat up. The restaurant next door was recommended but it's really just a drinking menu, barely any food. I wish I had known about Cook City, three miles down the road and we had stayed there because they had well lit motels and restaurants. I would recommend Silver Gate Guide service though, worth every penny!
Perfect base of operations for exploring Yellowstone if you're there for wildlife, since you can drive through Lamar Valley at dawn on your way into the park and at dusk on your way out. The room kitchen means you don't have to blow a lot of money dining out, but there were tasty options in town and in Cooke. The bed was SO comfortable and everything was nice and quiet in the evenings. Great star watching if you step right outside the room. The General Store even had a little fire and chairs outside.
Loved this place! It is 1 mile drive from the Yellowstone Park (East) Entrance, great for visiting Lamar Valley. We stayed in Motel Room 15, which was very clean and cost. Restaurant options in walking distance are limited but absolutely amazing food (Log Cabin and Wulff Tavern)! Would totally stay here again!
For a solo traveler, this place was ridiculously expensive. However the cabin was neat, roomy, and very well equipped. It had real pine paneling, a sparkling clean GAS stove, full sized fridge with freezer, toaster, coffee pot, you name it, it was there. Even Kleenex. And the towels were huge, fluffy, and smelled nice (not overly perfumed or sour) which is one of my litmus tests.
