Showdown Montana

I’ve been here about 20 times in the 25-26 season, absolutely amazing staff. While there is only three chair lifts and one magic carpet, the mountain isn’t busy where you’re waiting more than a minute or two on busy days to get on. Having come from large mountains, this place is a hidden gem and I recommend it to anyone looking for a great place to learn and/or improve their skills.

Showdown Mountain is everything skiing should be. Showdown absolutely nails it. This place has real Montana soul — no fluff, no pretentious vibe, just solid terrain, great snow, and an atmosphere that reminds you why you fell in love with skiing in the first place. The staff is awesome across the board — friendly, helpful, and genuinely stoked to be there. From the lifties to the lodge crew, everyone adds to the experience and makes you feel welcome, whether it’s your first visit or your hundredth. The mountain itself rips. Fun, challenging terrain, great tree skiing, and lines that stay fresh way longer than they should. No overcrowding, no chaos — just skiing. This was a great place for my family to vacation! My husband and I took our 3 children (10, 5, and 3 and all different levels) and we all had an amazing time! The magic carpet is a breeze to use and hardly any lines! The lodge got a little crowded when the temp dropped but everyone was kind and in good spirits so it wasn't too much of a bother. Highly recommend for all of these reasons.

We LOVE Showdown! As a family of 6, it's extremely affordable from lift tickets, to rentals, lessons and food. The laughs and memories we take home with us are priceless. My 3 kiddos and I learned to ski here while my other kiddo learned to snowboard. We had the best instructors. They take all your fears and nerves away. The staff are hands down the absolute best. Extremely friendly, kind and always greeting you with a smile. You can tell they enjoy what they do, says a lot about upper management.
