Sheraton Kauai Resort Villas

Service was great except for the original check-in person was horribly rude and couldn't pass me off to the next person quick enough. Otherwise absolutely everyone was so impressively nice . Facilities are fantastic. Shy and Brad at Lava's are refreshingly nice. It's nice when they go that extra mile and you can joke and visit with them. Facilities are awesome! Back pool by the villas is great.

Wish I could rate this place more, the rooms and location were great and the staff were friendly, but the business practices are shady and deceptive. I booked well in advance, budgeted for the trip, and thought all was fine. Website said no resort fees. So I was quite surprised when I arrived and they said I would need to pay a $40/room/day resort fee on top of what I booked. They justified it by pointing to their fine print policy saying they can change fees at any time. As of writing this review, the hotel website STILL says no resort fees on the main page, in a bold outlined box. If they were honest about it that would be fine, but to blatantly advertise no resort fees and then charge them when you get there is unacceptable.

Nice grounds, restaurants, and facilities. 2 stars because they added a last minute (within 7 days of my planned Hawaii trip) $40/day parking fee to my nonrefundable reservation that I had made months in advance with free parking. Being nonrefundable, I could not cancel or change the reservation. When I called the hotel directly to inquire about this charge, the agent wanted only to discuss future vacation bargains with me and I was disconnected when attempting a transfer to the front desk.

The Sheraton on Kauai was a great place to stay. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo with a kitchen. The room was very spacious and clean. It was in a great location and there were plenty of opportunities for dining out and shopping all within 15 minutes.
