Shawnee State Park Ohio River Campground & Marina

Most beautiful, peaceful and quiet campground. We stayed here Oct 2, 3, 4, site 09. Perfect location, had a pond behind us with a fountain that gave you that perfect water feature sound. Camp sites are very spacious, trails are paved for walking, running or biking. Right on the Ohio River, with beautiful Kentucky mountains all around. Saw an Eagle flying over us one morning while on a bike ride. Restrooms and showers are super clean and very nice. Check in was very easy, and everyone was so nice. They have an archery range, a huge butterfly area and a river walk that takes you along the Ohio River. Highly recommend this camp ground, you will love it!

Very nice campground. All the sites are paved. Most are quite large . The pull throughs are extra long. We enjoyed the hike/bike trail that's fully within the park. No pool but the kids will love the splash pad. We didn't use the dog park although it has everything you'd want.

Large, full hook up campsites. Not crowded together the way full service sites are in some campgrounds. Water and sewer available even in March. Reported to be available year round. I can only confirm availability in March when I camped. The pull through sites are very long. Picnic tables are secured to the cement pads. This disappointed one reviewer but I am fine with it. Meant I didn't need to retrieve my picnic from another site where someone moved it and didn't return it! In March only the family shower/comfort stations were open which was sufficient. They were clean.

Sites were spacious, but mostly in full sun. We had a pull through site with plenty of room for our Class A Motorhome and towed vehicle. The campground is well-maintained and new. It was a beautiful location with 360° views. This campground is a significant distance from the older Shawnee State Park Campground, so be mindful of that.

Beautiful place! We loved coming here, and would love to have our dogs run the obstacle course at the dog park. Probably the best dog park I've ever seen too!
