Shaker Meadows

Stayed here just after Thanksgiving and it was a magical winter wonderland! Loved the cozy warm houses amidst the cold snowy outside (I've included a photo). Farmhouse had charm from the 1700s but key things had been renovated (bathrooms, kitchen sink and counter, original flooring refinished, etc.) so it all worked well. Will be coming back!

The place is just darling and clean with so much love put in it. We stayed there for a long weekend for a friend wedding and got to meet some other guests at the wedding who stayed at Shakers. All had the same experience. Wonderful rooms, clean, sweet and delicious breakfast. We felt like we stayed in a friend's lovely home. We had our own little apartment (the spruce is wonderful) with well equipped kitchen, living room area and an upstairs bedroom. The owner went out of her way to make the stay as comfortable as can be. With suggestions for activities, restaurants, stores. She made me gluten free bkfst options, and nut free for my boyfriend. She even brought her sister's homemade gluten free bread (and recipe!! It was delish!). One of the guest even got to borrow her car.

My wife and I spent a night in the Willow Suite to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Firstly, this place is very family friendly so it was fine to bring our five-month old and they even provided a pack-n-play for us! The suite is stocked with books and games, as is the breakfast area. Everything looks a little worn but we found that atmosphere to very charming and comforting. We loved swimming at nearby Queechy Lake (swimming pass is included in every stay, as well as chairs and towels.) We also took several walks on the grounds. Jean, the innkeeper, and her staff are very kind. My wife said this was the best costumer service experience she's had in years (we're from NYC.) Been here since Friday and leaving Monday. Open floor plan is awesome. Cute functional kitchen. Comfortable seating, two tables to eat at or work from. Lots to do close by but not too far from more built up towns. It didn't bother us but it is on main road and you can hear the traffic pass by so if that bothers you ask for accommodation a little farther back on property. We really enjoyed our stay!

We stayed at Shaker Meadows for two weekends. There were 17 of us arriving at all different times and staying in the Farmhouse and The Willow Suite and The Spruce Suite. All of the accommodations are clean, comforting and comfortable. The two suites were recently renovated and are truly lovely. The Farmhouse slept 9-13 and accommodated 17 for dinners in its Shaker inspired dining room. We could all gather together for discussions, games and meals very comfortably and then gather in the living room for television or just being together. ||Jean, the host is so helpful and available and willing to help out with anything you might need.
