Shady Nook Resort

My husband and I were out snowmobiling with some friends this weekend and after his sled broke down we "accidently" ended up here. I say it was a blessing in disguise. We were greeted with so much hospitality and kindness from the bartenders, Andy and John, as well as the locals. We were able to enjoy delicious food and drinks while waiting for our friends to pick us up. We will definitely be back. Thank you again, The Friscos!

My family stopped by the Shady Nook bar, based on the recommendation from another restaurant on the Flowage during our snowmobile trip. It is a very quaint and cozy cabin with loads of charm, and a warm stove. The bartender was the owner’s grandson, and he was very welcoming and engaging. We heard about his talent for making the best Old Fashioned, and we can now confirm that truth! We tried both a brandy and a bullit rye whiskey version, and we were very pleased! Also, my nephew points out that he had a very tasty hot chocolate.

Loved renting a pontoon for a day with the family! Very easy process, excellently kept boats. Besides the pontoon, the bar is so fun and it’s always a good time. We love Shady Nook!

We had a great time tenting and fishing the Flowage. Service was great! I’ll mention that it’s very tight to have a truck with a boat trailer at the campsites, so I’d recommend parking the trailer in the designated area. We loved our stay and are looking forward to coming back- next time staying at the walk-in camp sight. Looks beautiful!

When the flag was folded and given to the family,a white rose replaced the flag ,and to the family members who always have made the stay very welcoming and respectful and warm when we visit ,and just drop in for the day ,,cocktail hour ,,prayers and memories this holiday season , This post was a year ago. 2025 summer at shady nook brought back GOOD memories and incredible fun. The good old days Always. !!It’s a place to go and enjoy life with friends and family .
