Selby Motel

We were traveling for Thanksgiving and were forced to get off the icy roads. We are so thankful for our experience at the Selby motel. The rooms were clean and they had a large dining area with an extensive menu and a variety of drinks for both kids and adults. Alex went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and was so kind to our children. Highly recommend.

As far as the rooms were concerned the were as clean as most hotels of this caliber are the only complaint on that is that the towels need to be thrown away and replaced they are extremely rough. When we arrived we checked in the left for the day came back for the night and had not eaten and the restaurant that is in the hotel had a sign on the door and marquee that said it was open till 9:30 so I went in and asked and they closed at 8:30, you shouldn’t advertise 9:30 if you are not going to be open till then. So then went to room tv didn’t work, it was Roku and it was an easy fix when I asked them to fix it and I appreciated that I asked about any breakfast in the morning they said restaurant opens at 7, I went down at 7 and waited and waited finally opens at almost 7:30. ->when the front desk clerk is also the waiter, bartender, cook and dishwasher, you know he's not getting 5 paychecks<- Friendly check-in. Coffee available in the lobby (not in room). Breakfast not included. They sell a selection of liquor on the premises (convenient) Also an attached restaurant (for dinner and breakfast) Very fast wifi (83 mbps download/86 mbps upload) TV was very small (smaller than the microwave) but had Roku, so there were many channels. (Though it did keep cutting out) Blackout curtains kept the room super dark in the morning. Smoke detector in the room is gone (!!!) Price in Sept 2025 was about $120 USD before taxes.

Checked in here and Amid (Alex) was so considerate of our situation having our 2 heelers with us gave us a room by the end for easy access with the heelers and he wears multiple hats he also runs the restaurant and makes berry smoothies that are fantastic very quiet establishment and he also runs the bar that is in the hotel didn’t utilize that but the breakfast sandwiches that he made were top notch Thank You so very much Amid (Alex) for making this a really great experience at your establishment

The rooms are nice, clean, and quiet. The front desk guy was very friendly. I do have to say the curtains in my room didn't go down to the window sill.
