Scottish Inns Collinsville - Martinsville, VA

Definitely not a place to book, don’t let the lobby fool you, I guarantee the rooms are very trashy. The front desk lady is very very rude, told us we had to get off of “private property” after being there not even 5 minutes, that is not how you run a business; private property or not. She’s replying to all of the negative comments saying things aren’t true when she knows they are. It doesn’t hurt to be kind, this lady is just awful. We understand it’s a private property but if someone is waiting for a ride who are out of town you should respect that! Doesn’t even deserve 1 star

Very nasty person greeting customers. She said she was the manager and was not at all accommodating for allowing you to look at the room before renting. Went in to look at the place before renting and was told we could not look at the room before paying. Was very rude and unprofessional. Was looking to see if they could accommodate friends coming in from out of state and changed our mind once we tried to book some rooms. Would not stay here with her being so nasty and not wanting to show us the room before paying. She did end up letting me look at a room but was very rude. Front desk smelled like strong cigarettes and small dog barking uncontrollably in office.

My husband and I stayed here at the Scottish Inns during the winter storm just in case our power went out, so we would be more safe and warm. We are locals to the area, and live in Stuart, VA. This isn't the first time as far as my husband, Dennis Crews goes, he has stayed here several times and has never had any complaints about the rooms or service here. When we first met and he came to the Martinsville area to meet me, he chose this hotel to stay at while he was here to meet me and vacation here. I don't get why so many people want to give negative reviews on a hotel that is affordable, budget-friendly..if you are expecting total luxury, then small hotel services like this is not for you anyway! One of the worst motels I've stayed at, and that's saying something. This place is a dive. Management was unpleasant and unprofessional. I had to stand outside for 30+ minutes waiting to be checked in with it being 17° outside, probably due to "waking the owner up" as check in is 8am - midnight. Save your money and go elsewhere. This place offered 0 comfort. Sleeping in a car would be a more suitable option.
