This place is a little gem. We took longer on the road than expected, so didn't arrive til close to 10pm. Not sure if this is typical hours for the front desk worker, but she called me right as we were pulling in to make sure we were coming. She greeted us with 2 spirits and a smile! Very friendly and helpful. We didn't realize there wouldn't be air conditioning, but the large fan in the closet got us thru the night, and then we were a little chilly in the morning! We were also pleasantly surprised by the downstairs common area where we had our choice of many community books and board games, and ordered what turned out to be a really yummy breakfast! Can't remember the item name, but it was a stuffed breakfast biscuit that was so delicious! We played some Battleship while we had breakfast.
*The reply suggests knowledge of my stay, despite the fact that ownership has since changed. Which leaves me to believe this is again Christine's attempt of trying to cover her terrible managment & backs up the expirence i had even more. Christine's response attempt contains statements that are completely false She claims there were “increasingly hostile interactions,” yet I did not handle communication — my husband did, and he remained calm and respectful throughout showing this "dispute" was made up.(or more likley thinking of a different confrontation as im sure she has many) at no point was there any hostility from our side. These concerns were real and documented. I have photo & video evidence supporting my claim.* See maps for pictures This review reflects my actual experience. Blamin
I would definitely stay here again, let's start with that. The good: - the manager is a super helpful, super cute, super star. Expedia screwed up my reservation so bad but she fixed it - it's really close to the Humboldt Redwood State Park - free beer and whiskey! The bad: - middle of nowhere with no real restaurant around - rooms are super old and very worn out - cleaning service was really bad -very old and worn out facility Lots of potential. As my family used to own a hotel, this is exactly the kind of place that has real potential.
Such a cute and historic spot—the perfect stay for a weekend trip to Humboldt Redwoods State Park! The staff are so sweet and welcoming, and when there was a hot water issue, they offered me a bathtub in the spa area. Best bath of my life! The cider company nearby is a great spot with rotating food trucks, the beach is gorgeous, and the redwoods take your breath away!
SHOWERGASAM!!! All kidding aside, the water pressure provided the greatest shower of my life! This cozy hotel has a lot of charm. Some of the common areas could still use a little work, but overall it’s a great spot for visiting the redwoods. The staff was super friendly and helpful. We were greeted with a complementary beverage upon arrival. Our room was very comfortable and well put together. Bonus points for the pour over coffee, chocolates and small splashes of scotch and gin. It made for a great base to explore the area, and we’d definitely stay again.
