Schug House Inn

Absolutely wonderful place to stay. Great people to deal with. Quiet, comfortable rooms. I always try to stay here anytime I'm in the area.

The best B&B ever! So much atmosphere. We stay every year for the past 30ish years. A highlight of our trip! We come for the Tri State tractor show in Portland as do a lot of the guests during the same time. We have made some long time friends at the Schug House. Very comfortable beds!

I stayed here along with family (occupying a total of 4 rooms and the only occupants of the house). We enjoyed our stay very much. On Saturday evening we spent the evening chatting on the porch and we enjoyed a big family breakfast that the Innkeepers held. They were also very attentive to refilling coffee and other drinks. And the pastries were delicious! I was in room 2 and had more than adequate space. The room had a lot of character as well as its own restroom with a shower. If you have trouble with stairs, there are two rooms on the first floor. This was an affordable choice for us and provided our family from across the country to spend time together.

Very quiet and peaceful. Its like a time capsule. The woodwork, wood floors,and antique furniture is beautiful. Would stay there again.

We actually rented rooms in the small Spanish style house next door. It is a nice older property, with a downstairs bedroom which I used, a living room, enclosed porch, kitchen and bath and upstairs rooms one of which my sister and brother in law used. We stayed two nights, and the first morning the Minch family who owns both houses brought us breakfast there. The second morning after the Schug house guests had left, we ate breakfast and took a tour. It also is lovely and old with baths for each bedroom and an enclosed upstairs porch. The hospitality was fantastic; we had a very good selection of homemade warm Amish baked goods, fruit, juice and coffee both mornings. The price is very reasonable, and I recommend going there whenever you have reason to stay in Berne!
