Scappoose RV Park

Even if you’re a decent human being who has paid and reserved a spot, this place is unwelcoming of you if you simply choose to sleep in your car instead of in a tent. This “policy” was not written anywhere in the terms and conditions when I booked the spot, nor was it mentioned on the rules at the site. The employee informing me of this unwritten “policy” though (a young man), was extremely nice, or I would’ve chargebacked my credit card

Paid $50 for two nights and it was awful. We were very excited to tent camp, cook some s’mores over a campfire and enjoy some nature, while visiting what we thought was a cute little town. What was supposed to be a sweet memory maker turned out to be a nasty, ghastly experience. We missed the part in their advertisement that states that it is next to an airport runway which starts flights loudly at 7AM and run till 10PM. We missed the part where the tent site is right next to a noisy busy road. And there is certainly no warning on the website about the bathrooms. There is a sign outside the bathroom that warns you: “ This restroom is not sanitized twice daily. Please use at your own risk. A PSA to all bike packers - you are NOT welcome here. The website says that bikes are welcome however this was very much not the case. I paid my 10$ to set up a tent in the field off to the side when in the middle of the night around 12am a grumpy old man named Rodger or something who was the park host came running up on me demanding that if I don’t leave Immediately he was going to call the police on me. After calming the dude down he said he would let us stay if I paid him an additional 22$ and move to a different spot on the property. Super scummy as I clearly paid what I was supposed to according to sign out front for pricing. I also wasn’t doing anything to disturb the other people staying on the property or harming the grounds, I was just minding my business after biking all day. Onl

Ignore previous review complaints. There is a new host and the park is clean and quiet. Hot showers, clean toilet. Full hook ups. Horse shoe pits have shoes. Alpacas across the street. Great for dogs. There is a bark company nearby and if you have a sensitive nose, you can sometimes smell the bark piles. But that's really a small issue.

The park is a great location and easy to find with lots of signs marking the way from Highway 30. The reservation group doesn’t send any instructions about check in so you have to just find the number on your receipt and park. It’s small so pretty easy. The bathrooms are not clean. The park was quiet at night but gravel trucks started clanking down road, raising all kinds of noise around 5:30am. Might as well have parked next to a freeway because it’s the same: # of cars, speeds, and noise. One good thing is there are lots of trees on the west side of the park. It was almost 100 degrees when we pulled in and the big trees made great shade.
