If you are visiting Alfred University and can get a room here, you should. Everything on campus is within walking distance. The staff was friendly. Feels exactly like what it is, a small town local hotel.

My son had an overnight visit at Alfred University and I stayed at the Saxon Inn because of it's convenient location to the college. The Saxon provides the feel of a small boutique hotel. Staff is very professional, rooms are VERY clean and offer niceties like a mint on the nightstand for the evening. The Inn is located in a safe, quiet residential location and there is plenty of parkng. There is a free continental breakfast, and while it was nice I wish they offered some hot items like eggs and bacon or sausage. Overall a little higher on the price side, though I felt the accommodations were worth.

Loved my stay here. Located directly on the campus of Alfred University, the inn offers great beds, a calm and soothing decor and genuinely top notch staff. Plenty of parking, too. The lobby offers 24 hr tea, coffee and water. I love the lobby display of ceramics from Alfred’s world famous ceramic school. Definitely a perfect spot to chill out.

Check in was easy and quick. The staff was pleasant. The hotel was small and attractive. The room was spacious and well-appointed. The AC was cold but humid feeling. We woke up many times during the night from the heat even though the AC was set at 65. The breakfast consisted of a waffle maker, juices, milk, flavored and plain yogurt, bagels, muffins, cream cheese, cereals, coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Late check out was up to 12 pm. There was no other option without paying, even though the hotel was empty.

The staff was incredible! The rooms felt cozy and the beds luxurious. It was quiet and I slept great. The breakfast in the morning was also wonderful. If you have business on either campus this is by far the best place to stay I highly recommend them
