We had a nice wide pull-thru that was pretty level. It was off season so pretty quiet. There’s a nice pond with small beach, you could bring your own canoe or kayak. People are very nice! Since off season not many activities happening.
Terrible camping NO CAMP FIRES allowed . We booked checked in not anyone said there was a campfire ban to us while checking in...later that night we started a controlled fir in a bed of rocks no trees around and 1/2 hr later some guy in a golf cart came racing to our site yelling NO FIRES! IAM GONNA NEED YOU TO PUT THAT OUT NOW! huh? Nice so we left next morning definitely don't recommend this place nothing but a frog pond. No stars here.
The park was clean but the roads through the park are narrow and tight. It is a beautiful park located in the trees but it is not big rig friendly if you have a long box truck & 40 ft 5th Wheel. Our site was decent size & level but trying to get up & out was a challenge. The bathrooms are clean & well stocked.
I camped at Sandy Beach seasonally from 2012–2024. In the early years, it was fantastic — full of family events, live music, and community spirit. Over time, though, the fun disappeared while the prices kept climbing. Next year’s seasonal fee for my site would have been over $8,000 plus taxes, with far fewer activities and more restrictive rules.||The biggest disappointment is their policy on selling campers: you can’t sell on-site unless it “passes inspection” by unqualified staff. If not, you’re forced to crush and dump it — even if someone else could fix it up. Wasteful and unfair.||After 13 years, I’ve sadly joined the exodus of long-time seasonal campers. Sandy Beach is no longer the place it once was, and I can’t recommend it.
Decent campground but very tight turns with a larger fifth wheel. Not easy to get into spots. The staff was nice but they don’t inform you that you can not burn u til arrival even though it was that way for months. Very disappointed!! This camp ground has a ton of full time residents most were friendly. The lake was nice especially at sunset.
