Sand Haven Campground

This campground just continues to improve and grow each year we are here. We have been permanents since fall of 2016 after weekend camping a couple times that summer and we are signing up for year 6! You can choose to participate in as many activities or as few as you want. Live music has been added this year along with inflatable beachside fun for kids to go along with the already fun pond experience we’ve come to expect. Dani and Steve have built upon what the previous owners started and taken customer service and general experience to the next level. When they say stress level low, only you can prevent burnout they mean it. We love meeting the weekend campers each week and seeing them enjoy the experience too and becoming the next permanents! This place is great. The sites are very nice and well kept and the staff were simply wonderful. Plenty of stuff to do with the kids. It's so great going to a campground and not having to move your vehicle or go anywhere because the kids are just enjoying it there. The pond swimming area was great, and the weekend festivities were amazing, the owners were fantastic and extremely helpful. I will certainly be bringing my family back.

We loved this place! It is gorgeous and well maintained. There is so much to do to keep our little one busy. Lots of walking options for our dog too. The swimming pond is super cool and my husband and son spent hours building sand castles. If you have a boat, bring it as there are a chain of beautiful lakes within a few miles of the campground. The owners, staff, and seasonal campers were so friendly and fun. We will definitely be going back!

The road appeal of this campground is exactly what we were looking for as a young family. We talked to the owners and explained to them that we are an ever changing family, as we are a young family and we are also foster parents. We made it VERY clear that our family would be changing on a regular basis due to the foster children we help. They did backgrounds checks on all their campers which was wonderful, we knew our kids would be safe here. We decided this campground would be perfect for our family with the owners understanding of our situation we signed up for a seasonal campsite. We passed the background, filled out the necessary paperwork which included our foster children on their contract, we also paid them in full. ||This is when it all went south. We loved our stay--a lot of stuff for the kids to do, other campers were friendly and helpful. We actually ended up needing the owners' help twice - once to borrow tools to fix a warped awning and once to help pull us out as we were leaving. Haha the ground was soft and our motorhome is heavy, but the owner and his son brought out a monster dump truck and pulled us out quickly and wouldn't even take a tip for their troubles. Highly recommend!
