San Rafael Bed & Breakfast

Very clean and comfortable stay in the Rose Room at San Rafael Bed & Breakfast! Danny and Kate were wonderful hosts and very responsive to anything I needed. The bed was super comfortable and I'd highly recommend this place to anyone going through or staying in Castle Dale!

Dan was able to give us the "Asian Room" last minute and it was very comfortable. Nice mattress on a queen bed. Clean and nice sized room. Bedside table with lamp on one side. ||It appears 2-3 rooms are in a new building behind the main house. Breakfast is three blocks away at JR's, a quirky locals diner that is quite popular for breakfast. Be prepared to eat well ! Dan gave us vouchers. A coffee maker is in the room for those who want coffee before getting dressed. ||Suggestions: We were a bit hot and had no way to make the room cooler to sleep (no in-room thermostat). And suitcase stands would be nice, had to put our suitcases on the floor.

It is an absolute pleasure to write a recommendation for Danny and his San Rafael Bed & Breakfast. With years of international travel experience, there is no question about the quality of this place. Danny and his team exceeded every possible expectation. With comfortable rooms and amazing food service, there is nothing more I could imagine needing. A special thanks to Robin! Her breakfast meals this past week excel above and beyond the finest dishes at any restaurant. Why? It's all home-made! It's served in a renovated dining room that captures the history of the area. Robin, I am planning a stay in September and can hardly wait to enjoy another one of your over the top amazing breakfast meals. The part I like the most about the San Rafael B&B? Quiet! This place is on the historic registry for the area. The owner has added on to make the rooms for comfortable. The room I stayed in had a huge jacuzzi tub. I had the place to myself as it was off season. It might be a little tight if all of the rooms were rented, it's a small place. The owner is very guest service oriented. This place is off the beaten path, in a small community. The drive going south from this area towards Escalante, is one of the most scenic rides in Ut and in my opinion in the Western US, great motorcycle ride.

We stayed there for 3 nights in October 2016. We rented the "Hawaiian" room and our friends rented another room. We enjoyed our stay. The B&B is a block west of the main drag (Utah Rt 10) so there is no vehicle noise at night. It was very quiet. The queen bed was comfy with a good mattress. Robin served a nice breakfast every morning which included eggs, potatoes, bacon &/or sausage, toast, muffins, coffee, and orange juice. She was very pleasant and helpful. Danny, the owner, was likewise very pleasant, helpful, and knowledgeable about the area. Castle Dale makes an ideal "home base" for day trips into the San Rafael Swell on good graded county roads. We would definitely stay at the San Rafael B&B again.
