San Anselmo Inn

A genuinely lovely stay in San Anselmo. The hosts were gracious, the setting was quiet, and everything was impeccably clean. The room was comfortable in every practical way — perfect temperature control, cozy bed and pillows, and great lighting options. The artwork gives the space personality without clutter. The back patio is charming and peaceful, and the breakfast room is beautifully light-filled, which makes mornings especially pleasant. Breakfast was outstanding — a European-style spread every day with fresh pastries, yogurt, berries, cereal, hard-boiled eggs, and very good coffee. Would absolutely return.

We chose the San Anselmo Inn for its proximity to Fairfax. What a delightful place! |Hospitality was evident as soon as you entered the establishment. The inn was very comfortable, brimming with history, and the proprietors could not have been kinder. |We enjoyed a large room on the second floor, which enabled us to enjoy the street view. Breakfast was included, served in the breakfast room and was plentiful! A charming, peaceful experience! Thank you so much!

I am a local to San Anselmo and have booked family, colleagues, and friends for several years at this charming and inviting local treasure. As the only legal local accommodation option (short-term rentals are not permitted in SA), it is wonderful to have the option of booking a clean, well-maintained, and reasonably priced accommodation located in the heart of this incredible town of San Anselmo. Of the numerous guests I have sent to the San Anselmo Inn, all have appreciated the hospitable host/owners, delicious breakfast, comfortable rooms, and eclectic style of this treasured Inn.

The inn is quiet and peaceful despite being on the Main Street of downtown San Anselmo and having a restaurant attached to it. The rooms are comfortable and quiet. You want to spend time in the rooms, the public areas, and the outdoor courtyard. The continental breakfast is deluxe. With organic and healthy options.

Inn is different from a standard hotel, it is older construction that has definite charm. Quaint room that was clean and comfortable. Little bit small for my 6 foot 3 size, and only stairs to get to the second floor. Breakfast was good and there are plenty of good restaurants in the area for dinner. No A/C however, but it cooled off in the evening.
