Excellent off-road adventure and outdoors experience, the Hot Springs are extremely relaxing and in the middle of nowhere in Death Valley , beautiful outdoors experience . I highly recommend doing this trip with a 4x4 with high clearance vehicle , not just an AWD vehicle, also not by yourself, come with another vehicle in your group if possible, the experience is amazing. This is not for everyone, don’t come in a Subaru , Tesla , Prius, Civic , Corolla or a vehicle that is not 4x4 with HIGH CLEARANCE. I did this route in 2004 a Land Rover Discovery with high clearance, Safari style Roof rack , high performance off-road tires 🛞, 5 extra gallons of gasoline ⛽️ and 5 gallons of water on top of my roof rack , I had ZERO issues but did see a Subaru with 2 flat tires 🛞 and no high clearance. Can’t speak to the toad in as we landed at the fantastically maintained airstrip. Nice, friendly people. The springs were excellent and the water was crystal clear. We went on a great hike up ‘black mountain’ and down into the ravine with a couple of long time characters. Will be back!

I can recommend this hot spring but no malice some people no clothes. No good if you have kids. But nice off road adventures.

One star. The road was too rocky, the palm trees too tall; the silence so deafening you could hear nothing at all. But the worst were the donkeys, that unsavory bunch; I turned my back, and one mistook my undies for lunch.

The road to the site is extremely treacherous. Lost two new off-road tires and a spare going out and back, didn't go more than 20mph. Something about the local geological formation causes these long, very sharp rocks that will go right through a tire/sidewall. Tow companies won't come out, guess they know better. Had to convince a friend to come out with extra tires. The site itself is decent, but not worth the expense/time.
