Spent a couple of months there while working. Plenty of trees and nice people to be found. 4th of July there was raffles and karaoke. Laid back and off the beaten path. Floating in the pond on hot afternoons was a favorite

My family & I have been going to this campground for the past couple of years. We like how convenient it is from home (35-40 minutes from Marine City) but yet far enough in the country to have an up north feel to it. It is 10-15 to Port Huron near Sawmill City & about 5 minutes from Goodells County Park & Pine River Nature Center. Yes the bathrooms could use some updating but it doesn't bother us too much as it is camping. The swimming pond is kept very clean & monitored by the health department. The bike trails are also a hit for experienced riders. Not a huge park but the majority of sites are fairly large and offer ample shade. Thank the Lord all other 8 campgrounds I tried before here either sucked or were full. Glad I ended up at this sweet place. We are in the rustic area along the river; quiet, soft grass, plenty of shade and space (I'm the only one here currently). The hosts/owners are super down to earth and friendly, easy check in. Plenty of tent sites along the river and several RV sites as well.

But after coming the last time, I’m starting to realize, they make all this money from the sites and whatnot and never put anything back into it. There used to be a nice tire swing when I was little, it’s gone. There’s no swings to use, everything broke. The few thing the kids could play on are fun, but outdated. They don’t spray for mosquitoes, so I got lucky to not get any diseases from being horribly bite up, along woth my kids. The flys were biting so bad around the pond. Lots of nasty murky seaweed that needs to be taken care of it your using it for swimming. There’s a huge steep hill I remember we loved to play on as kids, it’s all over grown now. You can’t ride your peddle bike after dark. No golf carts or s

We camped in our vehicle for a quick overnight after a wedding, the rustic spots were a little smaller than we thought but we were right next to the river which made it very relaxing. The whole place needs some tlc but overall its a comfortable place to stay.
