Roy's Motel & Campground

This place is a total dump. It’s not worth 25 bucks a night. We were charged 76+50 for dogs. They told us in the beginning there would be no charge for our dogs. But as soon as we were off the premises, they charged us 50 bucks behind our back when I called up they said they’d have the charges removed and then they never have. It is controlled by the people across the street at the red river Inn do not trust them either. They are all a bunch of scam artist they will rip you off if you give them the chance. Broken windows filthy, garbage bags over the windows. I can’t warn you enough about this place or the red river Inn stay at your own risk and I’m not kidding!!!

We weren't allowed to stay at the Red River because of our little dog, so we booked a room at Roy's. We didn't get a complimentary breakfast, there was only one wash cloth and hand towel, no glasses or cups or coffee maker, and no closet rod and hangers. The room was filthy with fly specs all over, dirty floors, mold...the place looked like it was ready for demolition. The sheets were clean but my pillow smelled. ||We were in Baker to visit family and will never stay at Roy's again. Plus, they charged me for two dogs and we only have one! This motel is a dump.

Was charged for 7 days, but only here for 1 night. Asked for a non-smoking room, and the room I got was filled with cigarette tar under the walls. Between the boogers & blood on the curtains that woke me up because they were thinner than paper, the razor marks on the counter, the sand and dirt in the a/c unit (and all over the ground nearby), the carpet that was so disgusting that I didn't even want to walk on it barefoot, ... The bed was actually not bad. 👍 There was no sound proofing though, and the insulation was very poor. Thank God I stayed here during the summer time. I woke up to exhaust in my room from cars at the nearby gas station, because the a/c unit is facing that way with no filter system or air insulation, and a an idling truck was parked nearby. So $76 with tax NO WIFI! Sometimes with door open you can connect. TV didn't work very well, most channels say "unavailable" I assume it was $30 prior to inflation. Night staff jenny was amazing friendly and helpful. Which is why I have put 3 stars not 1 under servive. Day shift lady was kinda snotty an short not rude but not friendly- When asked about free breakfast that is posted in room she stated "the low $76 price doesn't include breakfast because it's so cheap" she then kinda ended conversation instead of saying restaurants are close or ANYTHING. since I didn't know what my job was be I stayed 3 nights an there was no house keeping no clean towels no trash pick up no phone for wake up calls, dirt parking lot with large holes, room was small and has a fly problem. We enjoy quirky, one-of-a-kind ma and pa motels and have stayed at hundreds of them. We especially value those where you pull up right next to your room door. ||||Roy’s did not disappoint! We found our room to be fresh-smelling and clean, the bathroom serviceable, the WiFi connection solid, and with enough sockets scattered around to charge our electronic gizmos. The folks we dealt with at the front desk were pleasant and helpful. The nightly price, $60, included a great cooked to order breakfast at the Red River Inn across the street! We’d for sure stay here again!
