This review is overdue, my husband and I came here to celebrated our 1 year anniversary in October 2019. The little town of Salado is so swanky and cute! With an odd, yet adorable lore of mermaids. The Rose Mansion was on beautiful property with fun themed cabins and rich history of authentic buildings and pieces from the 1800’s. We stayed in George’s Cabin. Quite the experience to sleep in one building and have to walk down an outside hall (the dog trot) to the bathroom. The bed was comfortable enough, though we didn’t sleep as well the nights we stayed. I credit most of that to us being use to our king bed vs the queen, as well as being preferential to a more firm bed vs a less firm bed. However, it was incredibly peaceful and calming listening to nature and being outdoors. Kay was the m

We fell in love with this bed and breakfast!! Kay is awesome at what she does and makes you feel like family. She welcomes you with open arms, is very knowledgeable about the history of the Rose Mansion and Salado itself and has great stories to share. The breakfast here is amazing and you can really taste the love that Kay puts into it. The grounds are serene and so peaceful that even our 3 kids, ages 8-16 actually enjoyed being outdoors just relaxing on the porch and even had snail races one day.. We can't wait to go back and definitely will be making this our favorite weekend getaway destination.

My wife & I were celebrating a birthday, needed to get out of the city, and had heard many positive things about Salado and this B&B from friends & family. We chose to stay in the Garrison Cabin because we liked how it had a very folksy, rustic, and historic-but-comfortable vibe. We found it to be very spacious with the loft area, and we liked that it had some distance from the surrounding cabins/rooms. The Innkeeper, Ms Kay, really made the whole experience though; she was welcoming, hospitable, and her breakfasts were incredible! She also let us tour the other rooms that were unoccupied. We stayed on a Fourth Friday, so many shops were open late & there were many fun things to do on Main Street. Definitely looking forward to returning here again in the future; will be hard to decide whic

Nice place to gather with the family. My mother in law books a cabin every year at Christmas. She loves it. They have a cozy breakfast in the main house. Lots of fresh fruit...coffee....biscuits n gravy....ham sausage ..pancakes stuffed french toast on holidays.....juices....muffins. Kay runs the experience and if you contact her ahead of time for menu request (like gluten free) she is happy to help. There is alot of history at the Rose Mansion ......its a great experience.

I absolutely cannot say enough good things about Kay, and the Rose Mansion (but I'll try). Kay is so welcoming and friendly that she alone makes this a great place to stay. Her breakfast is amazing, with a different selection/menu each morning and she REALLY prepares a world class meal! Her knowledge of the Rose Mansion and the town of Salado really make you feel like she should be a historian as well.<br/>The grounds of the Rose Mansion are beautiful, serene, and soooooo peaceful! It's sounds weird to say, but you can "hear" the peace and quiet the whole time you're there. We stayed in the Sharecropper's cottage each time and loved, loved LOVED it. If you're looking for 5 star fancy, then I feel sorry for you because this is not it, but it is a wonderful place to stay that has its own cha
