Rose Court Motel

I once stayed here a few years ago and the rooms were average at best. I was told by a business partner of mine that the rose court had "cleaned itself up". Needless to say the environment was great, small yet inviting. The rooms were nothing short of beautiful, with elegant tile in the very sleek bathrooms and very comfortable beds. Most importantly for a small business traveler like myself the rooms are extremely affordable with daily, weekly and even monthly rates. Needless to say i was very impressed and will be returning there to stay in my annual summer and fall visits to Richmond.

This is like a apartment complex more than a motel. Most people live here. I have been living here for months and pay way to much $880 to be exact. I wish they could lower the pricw for people on extended stay. It's always noisy and I have encountered some good neighbors as well as the absolute worst. Some are very intrusive. I prefer to keep to myself. Overall I have stayed at worse. We get cable and that is a plus and they are pet friendly

I had reserved a week earlier and got in town a day early. They did move up my reservation which was nice because i had been driving for 20 hrs and needed a place to crash. I checked in ok got the room key and walked in the room to the nastiest carpet ive ever seen. Shower stall was built out of plastic wall panels that you would see in a commercial kitchen and leaked out everwhere on the bathroom floor. Even after this i was going to stay because it was cheap. Until i saw the magots crawling on the floor. I packed up and got a refund. They blamed it on a trash can that had been in the room. In my opiniin this place should not be in buisness. I would not recomend this place to a homeless person muchless someone visiting or on business.

It had a microwave and refrigerator. Good carpet and the bathroom was modern & up to date. Air conditioner was great. BUT No pillow cases,no bath rug, or no hand towel. Only 1 bath towel and 1 wash cloth for the multi-night stay. The Office was locked when we arrived at 4 pm. Had to call the owner who called his attendant who arrived 35 min. later. Insisted she would have been there if we'd come 15 min. earlier. Even though we had reserved a room the previous week, she did not check the registry and kept repeating she only had one room left over and over. Then she opened the unit for us and ran to her car and took off and never saw her again. Bought the missing items at a nice Walmart in town so we coped.

I had to go back to Richmond for my mother's funeral. I read the review from Feb 2010 and thought it sounded OK. Whoever wrote that review either 1. works or owns the motel or, 2. is on drugs. Once I arrived I stayed there only because they already had my reservation credit card information and I was afraid they would charge me even if I elected not to stay. The room was $42.50 and was worth about $5. The rooms were old, the furniture was stuff found on the side of the road and there was mold on the walls. The non smoking room smelled like the inside of an ashtray and the smpke from the adjacent owner's room flowed into my room all night. And those, "weekly" tenants are either welfare recepients or hookers or both. Stay in Excelsior Springs and drive. Worst place I have ever sta
