I hosted a post-wedding brunch at the Roger Sherman Inn and it was everything I hoped it would be. The food was delicious, hot, and plentiful; it was refreshed often to assure guests who came later got a hot meal as well as those present at the start. The bacon and sausage deserve special note; really crisp, but not burned, and great smoky taste. All items in the buffet were delicious and presented nicely.||The staff worked very hard to accommodate us. We had some unexpected guests (who hadn't RSVPd) show up, and the staff brought in more chairs and the kitchen scrambled, but the guests never noticed anything except hospitality and a good brunch. Our first visit was great, the second time ok, and third time tonight was dreadful. We invited close friends and we were beyond disappointed. The oysters arrived and the smell from one (ammonia meets garbage) took my breath away. I mentioned this - thankfully before I ate it. It was removed but no real apology, just 3 more oysters eventually sent out. Is Chef not checking this? My chicken entree was as tough as boots, l left lots as in-palatable. When we arrived at 6:30pm, the Dining Room sounded like a Kindergarten, so we opted to eat in the bar. There were still little kids in there but it was better. Early in November 2025, we faced an emergency situation that required us to stay at the Roger Sherman Inn for three weeks. I want to express how truly amazing the entire staff was, led by their wonderful new owner, Uanderson and Brianna Benedetti, and the great sweetest manager, Amar Haouari. They were incredibly supportive and went above and beyond to help us with all our requests — even setting up desks in our bedrooms so we could continue working and our kids could stay on top of their schoolwork. On the very first night after the accident, they immediately stepped in to make sure we were comfortable, bringing the entire menu up to our rooms so we could all have something to eat, free of charge. We had an outstanding dining experience tonight at the Inn tonight in the bar area. The food was amazing and our waiter, Miguel, was the best. His recommendations and service were excellent. Please ask for one of his tables. He is just great! He knows how to make you feel like family at the Inn. Then the music started. What a great vibe. Soft songs from the past.. Vinny is a true musician that added such a great touch to dinner and made it a truly fun night. He sang covers of Johnny Cash, the Beatles, Fleetwood Mac, in such a classy, upbeat way that I will return to hear him play.
