Rodeway Inn Saint Joseph

It's definitely an older hotel but it's clean and comfortable and affordable. Definitely a great savings compared to others in the area. We spent two nights. I read all the other reviews and I agree don't expect the front desk person to have a charming personality. He is straight to the point and doesn't tolerate any bad behavior at his property. Another thing we didn't see any bugs and didn't wake up with any bites another plus. There is some minor mechanical challenges with several things it's a older hotel. After our first night we felt very safe and had an enjoyable stay. We will definitely be back in the future.

Overall, a good stay. The best feature of this property is its location, which is very convenient and in a safe, well-kept area. The hotel itself is clean and straightforward. The rooms are simple, but the beds and bedding are in serious need of replacement. The mattress was uncomfortable, and the sheets and blankets were thin and worn. We also found a previous guest’s dirty sock in our room, which was disappointing. The staff was not particularly friendly. Each time we passed them, morning or evening, they did not acknowledge guests or say hello. Given that they appear to live on-site, it would go a long way to have a more welcoming atmosphere. Mike was a wonderful host!!! Very kind staff and good prices on rooms. Great location considering it's right next to a Kwik Trip.

Very disappointed with the room. Could not open drapes so the room was pretty dark as 1 lamp wasn't working because the switch was broken. The soap dispenser in the bathroom was empty. Had to get body wash from the shower to wash my hands. That was nearly empty too. Switch on hairdryer was broken. So couldn't use that either. Not a good thing in MN humidly. Very poor that small things like this were not taken care of. Coffee was good but very little there for breakfast and juice machine was empty. I don't expect I would have any reason to but would never stay there and probably not in a Rodeway Inn.

The hotel is very dated really needs a facelift. It is located next to a quick trip which was a positive. And there was the neighborhood restaurant just a few minutes away by walking. That was a real plus for us. We use this restaurant because we were traveling with a travel company out of St Joseph and it was convenient. The breakfast was not worth mentioning.
