ROCKY TOP INN & SUITES

This is the location of the formerly known Lamb's Inn, somewhat popular in the 80s. The structure stands, more or less unchanged. You can get vintage postcards from it online, it's a legend.

After a long drive from Michigan to Florida, we stopped here for the night. The room was a little dated but clean and the beds were very comfortable. The service was very friendly and "down home" with all our needs attended to promptly with a smile! Breakfast was included and to our amazement wasn't just coffee and Danishes but a full breakfast with eggs, sausage, hash browns grits bacon etc. And the morning servers were extremely friendly and pleasant. I loved the place and we made a point to stop back on our return trip home to tje same pleasant stay!!

Gosh just read the reviews. I asked to see a room before paying, they only had smoking rooms available on a Friday night, oct 2021 ... I opened the door to 12A and the smoke smell about knocked me over. It was really not nice. Maybe the non smoking rooms are better but I left in a hurry. Running a motel must be a hard life so I'm trying to be sympathetic but if this was my place I would be kind of ashamed to charge anyone $60 a night.

I just stayed in this motel last night and for the money it was fine. The young man who checked us in was friendly and helpful. Although, the older couple (I'm guessing his parents) were a little annoying. The younger man was very accommodating to us as we asked for a bottom floor and we got it. The building and rooms are obviously old and dated, but it was still clean and comfortable. The only negative about this place (besides the creepy parents ) are the pillows are like rocks. I would stay here again the convenience is worth it. I did not see any bad things in this area, and i was out well after dark, but I was only there one night.

This place would be a horror movie villain's perfect hideaway. We got stuck in a massive storm and couldn't see anything around us for more than 10 feet, so we had to pull into the first motel we saw, because it was getting dangerous to continue on. It was dirty, and grungy. There was no illumination in the parking lot or on the doors of the rooms, so we couldn't even see the numbers of the rooms. The lobby was poorly maintained and dimly lit. Two debit cards were declined, that we KNOW had money in them as we'd just been paid the day before. The one card of the traveler with us that was overdrafted already? Hers went through, go figure. So now we have to carefully monitor our bank accounts for the next few weeks. The key didn't work at first, you really had to fight with it. Once in, th
