Rock Wren Hideaway

Such a fun glamping spot! Super close to the City of Rocks with excellent hiking, mountain biking and rock climbing. The hosts were amazing and the beds were so comfy! We stayed very warm in the tents and it was so nice to have meal kits for dinner.

Absolute best place to stay if you’re visiting city of rocks. Clean, comfortable, cozy — just the absolute best place to come home to after a day of rock climbing!

We loved our stay at the Rock Wren Hideaway! We could not believe how spacious and nice the tents were inside; it felt like walking into a Harry Potter tent! We went to both Castle Rocks State Park and City of Rocks while we were there. It was a very easy drive from the campground. City of Rocks gets very busy so it was nice to camp outside of the park. When driving home, our son asked if we were related to the hosts, because of how nice they were. We aren’t related, but they just made us feel very welcomed and really took care of us! We will be back!

This was the best camping experience! I struggle camping because we have 9 kids and it takes too much work for me. This was amazing - they had everything we needed. The food was so delicious! The tents/rooms were big and beautiful! The beds were super comfy! And the Bates are the nicest people ever - they know all about the parks and their place is very close to City of Rocks and Castle Rocks! It was great to be able to just go enjoy time with my family without any of the stress. They are still developing everything - it is already awesome and it is only going to get better!

The Rock Wren Hideaway exceeded our expectations and made our first yurt-camping experience one to remember. The yurt itself was clean, spacious, and cutely decorated! But the service was so welcoming and accommodating to our every needs- they gave us extra cots to sleep on and even included a s'mores basket! Sofia, Derek, Phoebe, and Ethan were able to give tips and insight about Castle Rocks and the City of Rocks which made our trip run that much smoother and just great people to talk to! It's just 10 minutes away from both parks and is a must-see (especially for climbers)! The location was absolutely gorgeous with the brightest stars we've ever seen and gorgeous sunsets, but the most fascinating part was their historically rich property that includes the Oregon and California trail.
