Rivers Bend Campground

Owner is rude, aggressive and confrontational. an unbearably stressful experience. At one point the Vermont State Police were there to calm him down. When leaving I heard one of the officers say, “This guy is an absolute nut job!” The ladies who work there are very kind and try to be helpful but seem afraid. It sounds like they rely on him to live there year round. There are cameras on buildings and on trees around the campground with microphones so don’t expect privacy. A beautiful setting on the river but there is poison ivy, water snakes and cockroaches. This campground will not refund any of your money if you need to cancel within 30 days. We booked within the 30 day period, they took our payment by phone before explaining the cancellation policy. I called a week prior to our arrival to cancel due to poor health. 3 days later I had emergency surgery. I called again to request partial refund. The manager I spoke with was extremity rude to me. He said they only give partial refunds ($25 for extenuating circumstances) for cancelling prior to 30 days. He said this is common practice everywhere however, we’ve had to cancel hotel stays or house rentals last minute and they always have at least a partial refund. They said they only give credit towards a future stay however, after speaking to the owner we will never go to this campground. Had he

I drove all the way there to check it out as a possible spot for a seasonal stay for 2026. I didn't get to see the Campground because I wasn't allowed to go past the office/guard house. Apparently, one is only allowed to do a drive or walk thru on certain days no matter how far you drove to look at the Campground. They have a ton of rules. Some seemed to be overkill. I have to say, I don't know if its a good place or not. I wasn't allowed to see the property layout. I did not get a warm fuzzy feeling with my brief encounter there.

It’s a nice place. However, they NEED to upgrade their electrical service. Never have I been to a campground with under 100v. AC will barely function and it’s terrible for your unit to run on voltage that low. Community sewer hose at the dump station is gross. I’ve never seen that anywhere else.

Great campground next to a beautiful river. Sites are good size and the views are fantastic along the river. Staff are great and the campground was in fantastic condition. WE will be back again to enjoy this place.
