Richard's Motel Courtyard

I'm a stickler for cleanliness is hotels, especially down South here and this place sure is spic and span! We had 2 separate stays here for 2 nights before and 2 nights after a work trip in Ft. Lauderdale. This neighborhood has much more personality! It's very quick & easy to get to the beach, shopping for food and stuff and soo much amazing food (hit Euroland for coffees, pastries groceries and a big hot foods bar). In our room, I asked the front desk for a couple things that were dropped off quickly. Both beds in the 2 different rooms were very comfortable and I'm a bit picky with that. I love plants and there were so many well cared for all over these properties. This is a simple, no-frills place at a fantastic value that I hope I can return to again some day! Reserved two night and the host stated our second night was in a different room. They charged us a fee to stay in the same room and expected us to pay hourly bc we did not check out. Also, extra charge for towels, pillows and blankets. Very shady and unwelcoming.

The property required a fifty-dollar cash-only deposit at check-in. Upon checkout, the deposit was not refunded because a receipt was required. I honestly do not remember ever being given a receipt, and I do not recall having one in my possession. It is possible it was never provided. The important point for future guests: if you do not have a physical receipt for the cash deposit, the money will not be returned. No card deposit option was offered — cash only. Please be aware of this risk before staying here.

I Stayed one night. Good for one or two nights 🌙 Room had stove microwave and fridge. Renovated bathroom. 2 beds. Room 403 Basic amenities. No extra anything. No dishes not even disposable stuff. No paper towels or dish soap. Furniture dated. Motel front desk is up the street and the Richard's motel courtyard is not in walking distance. I was not aware of this and had to take and Uber to get back and forth to get to my room and return the key next morning! For which they take a $50 deposit. It was good for the one night I needed it for. Outside has great sitting areas. Pool was beautiful. Easy delivery for food. Good for chilling but bring what you need. Richard's is my choice when I'm in town. My last visit was for 3 days at the courtyard & it was great. Very clean & quiet like being at home. Anna at the front desk was very courteous & friendly.
