Reva Gap Campground

Great free campground with amazing views! Only thing lacking to get a five star review from me would be utilities - but it is free so not expecting all that. Our site had a spectacular sunset view (but not a great sunset the night we stayed). There is also a great view up a trail at one end of the campground and a trail to get down and explore the area a little. Loved this stopover! Wonder about the GI Joes? 33 months on the road and 327 campsites visited, and this is a top 10 without a doubt. Free First come first serve campground with nice campsites that seem to all have shade and sun. Some include picnic tables and fire rings. There are to be no fires at this time. There are multiple pit toilets, and the campsites are pretty private. There is a kiosk at the picnic area when you first enter that has a map showing where each campsite is. There are a few campsites not on the map and also a very large area for horses that may accommodate additional campers if all other sites are full. It looks as if they would prefer you didn't camp in the picnic area, but when I was here, there were people camping in every place possible. Free, but no water or garbage cans, but very clean vault toilets. Great views around the campground.

Love love love this camping spot! Free! Well maintained. QUIET! BEAUTIFUL! No complaints whatsoever. If you're in ND and need a place to camp, you won't be sorry you chose this location.

spent the night camping here, and then hiked up on top of one of the clay mountains protruding out of the gap. we sat on top and took photographs of the castles off in the distance. you can see all forms of crazy erosion taking place here. there are little flat plateaus down in the valley with clay river beds engulfing them all around. these photographs were taken at the beginning of November 2020
