Residence Inn by Marriott Orangeburg Rockland/Bergen

Location was 5 minutes from where I needed to be the next morning with a Stop & Shop right next door for a late night snack. If I would've stayed for longer than one night, the full-sized refrigerator, stove, range & microwave, and flatware would've definitely come in handy! It was a very spacious room nevertheless. The complimentary breakfast buffet was incredible. My favorite was the oatmeal with more than the usual brown sugar, walnuts, and granola. They also had coconut flake, graham cracker crumble, craisins, and dried banana chips! Overall, great experience. When I visit clients in this area, I'll make it a point to stay here.

Stayed for three nights in a one bedroom suite. Let's start with the positives: The room was quiet. The bed was comfortable. The staff was very nice. There was convenient free parking (although I think I read somewhere they are going to start charging for parking after the new year?). There were some nice toppings options for yogurt at the free breakfast bar. The gym was not crowded and included several options for cardio - two treads, a recumbent bike, and two ellipticals. The negatives: We had to switch rooms due to some agregious housekeeping issues in our orginal room. Even our new room had some cleaning issues -- sticky spots on barstools and the countertop, stain (maybe a drip stain?) in the tub that improved after use, funny smell to the room (not as bad as the first room), and low

We stayed in this hotel once before around 2021, but our most recent stay for the better part of a month indicated how downhill the property has gone. The rooms are not being properly maintained or cleaned. Wallpaper is peeling, there are holes left in the walls and ceiling, and cigarette smoke (among other smells) enters the bathroom if the fan isn't left on 24/7. Our bathroom door looks like someone practiced drilling it with a hole saw at least a dozen times. It also wouldn't latch shut before asking for maintenance to come fix it. Bathroom fixtures are left loose (faucets in sink and tub, for example) with no caulk, so they move around and let water into the walls and cabinets. Before asking for a replacement, the shower curtain was at least a foot too short to fit the tub. Water leak

Positive: The location very convenient. There are lots of restaurants and it's right by the highway, plus there is Stop & Shop right next door. Negative: I did not realize that trains would be running behind the hotel. It did not make a huge impact on my experience but I could see how it may be a problem for someone else.

I wanted to contact Marriott directly and not write a public review but after filling out their contact form they wouldn't allow me to submit it there was no reason there was no explanation there was no error on the Form the submit button just didn't do anything. There are only two staff members working at the hotel who were kind and warm and welcoming and smiling. It was a tall Asian man and a young blonde man. The rest of the staff never once greeted me or welcomed me or asked me if I needed anything most of them didn't even look at me when I walked into the lobby. This didn't happen once it happened every single time. It's very very strange to hire people who are in no way hospitable in the hospitality industry. It was strange and rude and cold as if they didn't want me there or didn'
