Red Roof PLUS+ South Deerfield – Amherst

I absolutely LOVE thos hotel!! I've stayed here a few time's so far and ive had no issue's! The rooms are very cozy and comfortable. There is adjustable heat and ac, there's always hot water for showers, the beds are BEYOND comfortable. Every room I've had so far has been remarkably clean, bathrooms and all!! They provide clean wash clothes and towels and shampoo and bar soap as well if you're like me and forget everything lol. This hotel also has a pool table and some claw machines, a couple massaging chairs and some soda and snack machines as well!! They have TV and WIFI. They also have a laundry room on-site which was so so helpful to me!! There's also a few gas stations very close by so you dont even have to go too far to grab anything!! As always, Red Roof has consistently offered clean rooms at a reasonable rate, plus they allow pets. Many entrances close to where you stay, large area, for walking pets, plus bags for picking up after pet. Also, they've done a great job of sound proofing, you rarely hear other guests.

Our stay was extremely disappointing. The room had a strong mold and mildew odor, and there was visible mold on the chair. Within minutes, my child began having trouble breathing, so we had to leave right after checking in. I spoke with the property manager, who said they receive frequent health inspections but never followed up and refused to offer a refund. I wouldn’t recommend this location to anyone, especially families with children or anyone sensitive to air quality.

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed in. When I arrived, I found a used cigarette on the chair cushion, disgusting. Makes me question their “no smoking policy” and their cleaning abilities. Secondly, the people next door to my room were inappropriately loud for hours, nearly the entire time I was there. I asked the front desk to do something about the disgusting noises coming from next door, and they told me they would be spoken to, but never were. Third, my key card stopped working 2 times in my one night stay.

The irony is I would have given these guys 5 stars! Perfectly fine overnight stay while visiting friends up in Amherst.|| Ridiculously expensive for a Red Roof, like north of $350 all-in for the single night, the night I was there. Guess there was some event going on at one of the colleges and all of the other hotels were fully booked for more than that or had a minimum two-night stay. Plus, my former go-to, the Howard Johnson in Hadley, has had a name change and is now an extended stay hotel.|| Room was sparse but adequate. As others have noted, it's a bare-bones property. But it totally worked. Clean, safe and ample parking.|| Right next to Yankee Village if that's your final destination.
