Red Roof Inn Sutton

Considering other reviews I was a bit nervous to book this hotel. The rooms were perfectly fine I did not find it dirty. Service from the staff is absolutely lacking. We’re woken up at 9 AM by staff knocking out the door so they could clear snow off the roof, which I understand is definitely something that needs to be done but why not wait until checkout time at 11 o’clock instead of disturbing guests that are trying to sleep for a meeting the next day? I would recommend this location if you’re looking for a cheap and relatively clean hotel room but not if you are looking for hospitality.

Staying here for a night is very expensive, and the overall experience is disappointing. The appearance of the place is not great, and customer service is lacking. It takes a long time to find someone who can assist you. While the location is perfect and attracts many guests for that reason, I feel that the money spent is not worth it.

At first our stay was going ok but there was a lack of places to access by walking. We had to walk along a highway just to get food. The next afternoon the power went out and, we had no way of going to another hotel when the owner tried to tell us to leave. The owner didn’t even reimburse us for the almost $20 in food we lost due to the power being out nor did he comp an additional day stay for all the inconvenience the power being out caused. I absolutely do not recommend this hotel for anyone to stay even on a very tight budget. Also the desk drawer was filled with cigar tobacco and, some green powdery substance while the floor had debris along the edges.

How do I even start.? I booked a non-smoking king room there last night and it smelled like cigarettes and urine. We found bugs all around the room, cigarette burns on the sheets, and overall the room was not clean. I went to use the shower and thank God that I ran the water before using it because it turned out that the shower drain was clogged. Hair and dirt came up from the drain and the water wouldn’t even go down! We complained to the staff on duty and he allowed us to switch rooms but seemed more concerned about whether we used the bed or not.. as if he didn’t care about the cleanliness issues we had said and like he wasn’t going to get the room cleaned even after we had gone in… we switched to an outside room. Stayed here in a bind- not many pet friendly hotels close to my work. Check in went smoothly, didn’t ask for anything except my id and payment, they also accept cash which is very abnormal. I had gut feeling about the room next to me, which I tried to ignore due to the convenience. Until I went to book another night and the guy running the front desk was on the phone with police investigating a sex trafficker in the room next to me, who was gone that morning and back the next day. All pleads to give the police information I had were ignored (I had a friend make an anonymous tip in fear of my safety), he took my payment and I checked out as soon as possible.
