Red Roof Inn Hartford - New Britain

This was one of the worst hotel experiences in my life. My boyfriend and I were on town for a funeral. We checked in, got out key cards, and unpacked in our room. The tub was filthy, and covered in pubic hair. Thankfully we were in town for one night. After a long and emotional night, we were woken up at 3am by hotel security claiming that we did not pay for the room and had to leave. Security was slamming on the door! My boyfriend’s mom paid for the room, which we told security. They td us they could not contact her. Emotions were high, and my boyfriend was really upset, again we just came back from a funeral for a 41 year old friend and loved one. My room is fine, it’s quiet. My one and only complaint is getting clean towels. I’ve already asked 3 times.. hopefully I’ll get them tomorrow. However, Sam at the front desk was great! She helped me get a lower rate and signed me up for rewards which I really appreciate! Thank you Sam! You’re the best!

Positive: Great receptionist who went above and beyond when we arrived. Professional & corteous staff, great location, clean rooms. Negative: Elevators, one was out of order and tge other was making noise like it was going to break in half. Scary!

During check in, the girl in front desk and the security guard were conversating as if i wasnt there. The security guard was cursing referring to another customer. Finally the girl in front desk attended to me. When she finished checking me in she left the card on the counter and walked away, as she walked away she said the key was there. Rude. The security guard knocked on our door and demanded we talk low and turn the tv down. He is very rude and has no professionalism. There was some noise outside my door and when i looked through the peep hole, the security guard was harrassing the people in the room in front. This security guard should be re trained. Other than that the hotel was good.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Although this is a two-star hotel, the overall experience truly feels like five stars! The rooms are clean and well-maintained, the hygiene is excellent, and the location is perfect — very convenient for getting around and finding restaurants nearby. What impressed me the most is the friendly and helpful staff — they are always professional, polite, and ready to assist. Recently, the hotel has started converting half of its rooms into ones with kitchens, which makes staying here even more convenient, especially for guests who like to cook or stay for a longer period. I’m very satisfied with my stay and will definitely come back again!
