Red Roof Inn Des Moines

I’ve spent years in the hospitality industry and even managed a Red Roof property myself, so I tend to notice the details most travelers might overlook. My recent stay at the Red Roof Inn in Des Moines truly stood out. From the moment I arrived, it was clear the team here takes pride in their property. The check-in process was smooth and welcoming, the staff was professional and attentive, and the overall atmosphere felt well managed and cared for. Cleanliness was excellent. The room was well maintained, fresh, and clearly inspected with care. Housekeeping standards were right where they should be, which is something I always pay close attention to as a former hotel manager. Positive: It is an economy motel. For what we paid. We were definitely impressed. Negative: Not really. Had we paid for a higher priced motel we would have liked a better breakfast. For what we paid? We were lucky to even get a breakfast.

I decided to stay here as I was traveling back from Oklahoma going to Waterloo and it’s the best decision I made this only got a couple stars on reviews, but I would read this out of five star plus because it’s exceptionally clean the water pressure is stellar the service is great. The beds are extremely comfortable. They have a fridge and a microwave and a big TV in the rooms and they have a desk and they have a lot of plug-ins and you couldn’t ask for more.

Clean room, bed and pillows were phenomenal for a budget motel. Breakfast was pick over from another guest hoarding food but the front desk guy was trying his best to keep it stocked. No pet fee for 1 dog. I was most surprised to see the inroom heater/ac is well maintained/not dusty and even had clean air filters.

The web page on the pet policy is that service animals stay Free we my husband and I have two service animals and they changed us for one of our service animals to stay our room was priced at $86.00 after tax and fees plus $100 deposit which should of been only $200 and they changed us $216.00 for the night. Everytime we would just fall asleep someone would try to open our room door and wake us up did not feel safe at all with our stay and will most likely not be staying there again everm
