Red River Inn Silt - Rifle

I stayed two nights first in 204 My tv remote wouldn't work I had to spend my first hour getting them to get tv to work- all hbo was in Spanish! The bed was like lumpy oatmeal. I couldn't sleep at all. During 50s day they had heat blasting in halls and freezing in the morning. Front desk gal was happy to switch rooms for me.to 206 (she was great) Along with older maintenance man. New room was better but the bed was not good.The sink in bathroom smelled like dead mouse. As I left on time This Indian man I never saw before started yelling at me I couldn't leave my belongings in the hall as I packed my car! I HAD no idea who he was. I asked if he was the owner, he said no I just work here. He stood there yelling at me and bullying me as I was getting ready to go to my friends funeral in

Instead of booking through Expedia like I normally do, I rang the hotel direct, as I wanted to pay cash. I know that hotels can't undercut booking sites like Hotels and Booking.com, but they can at least *match* it - which this hotel did not. I actually paid a slightly higher rate - even though the hotel was getting paid direct, so did not have to pay any commission.||Check-in was fine. The gentleman / manager was friendly enough. The room was also fine. Clean, with 2 comfortable queen beds, although the decor was a little outdated.||It was also RIGHT next to reception, so we got quite a bit of noise - especially from some loud conversations in the evening.||We were facing the parking lot / main road, but didn't seem to get too much noise.||However, in the morning, we discovered that

This place isn’t fancy or modern, but it’s clean and the people working here are friendly. If you’re one to complain about not having extra luxuries or not having breakfast, go stay somewhere else and pay a whole lot more; hotel breakfasts are never that good anyway and are a breeding ground for germs. It seems they keep things modest to keep it affordable. The walls/ceilings are a little thin, but there’s air conditioning with a fan to dampen the noise. Happy to have a roof over my head.

Cheap place to stay, you get what u pay for. Our room had ants.the room had a smelly smell that was smelly. The bed felt like it was from the 60s could feel the springs ended up rotating it myself. No coffee or "free breakfast" parking was packed after coming back from hikes. Ended up getting lucky as some one pulled our as I was searching. Couldn't sleep sounded like some one kept rattling my door Handel all night. Our room was close to the front desk and from 12am-5am we could hear the staffs conversations and jokes. Ugh it was a long weekend.
