Customer Reviews
It spite of it looking abandoned from the outside, it was a a clean, adequate room on the inside. The price was right however. The owner was very friendly. The biggest negative was that there was old coffee left in the coffee pot. I have no idea how some of these reviewers can give it 5 stars. For me to give 5 stars it has to be one of the best places I've stayed at a decent price. This has a decent price, but no where near the best place I've stayed. The "street view" of this motel is 12 years old so I've added new exterior photos.
Old style roadside motel. Looked like 6 rooms operating. Clean, rooms well kept up. Carpet good. Bed comfortable. Highway in front and railroad tracks behind. Didn't bother me but some light sleepers may have a problem. If you stay here you are likely driving the Sandhills Journey. Every town along here is similar. Very few places to stay.
We were on our way to South Dakota to move up here. Had a tire on the verge and needed to stop for the night. Everything was closed but the owner at this motel had a room and a nice one at that, even fed us from his own kitchen as we had a toddler and no food on us. He’s a very kind hearted man. I’d recommend his hotel to anyone and I hope y’all decide to stop in and support this motel. Very thankful Travis Chilson
Great place to stay! Owner is super nice, and appreciates the hunting community. Owner allowed my wife, and I to hunt all morning before checking out of our room without rushing us. Good crowd that stays here, and no one messes with your stuff. Can’t say enough good things about this place, and the owner. I would give it 10 stars if I could!
For the price it was ok. The rooms were clean, the sheets were clean and the owner was accommodating. This is one of those rooms where if you need a place to stay and don't feel like driving another 2 hours, this is your stop. Our room had a double queen, Dish Network TV, microwave, AC, medium fridge with a small freezer, 4 cup coffee pot and normal bathroom with no exhaust fan (gotta open the window to the calming drone of the train station behind the motel) If you can't deal with slow train traffic behind the rooms, keep moving.
