Ramada by Wyndham East Orange

You get to the hotel, the parking lot is around back. They have security cameras and high gates all around it but it's one story and you better make sure you lock your car. The doors to the alcove and building are dirty and as you walk in, there's bullet proof glass around the concierge desk. So that's always comforting. We get in the elevator and our room is on the top floor. The elevator smells heavily of Marijuana and pieces are broken on it while it makes weird sounds up to the top. When we get to the top floor, the hallway is dirty and eerily dark. We open our room and there's someone else's hair in the drain, the sink is dirty and innirially I thought you had to jiggle the handle to get the toilet to stop running, but that didn't work. Red flags all around. I knew it wasn’t going to be an experience when they put me on hold 4 times before I actually got to speak with someone , as I’m trying to check in another person was yelling about roaches and bed bugs. Which made me on high alert when I went to the room. The size of the room and the view was nice .. the bathroom was TINY. But a plus they had a fridge and microwave in the room. The maintenance of the room is so outdated and falling apart and needs so many repairs and a good scrubbing. The shower head and bath faucet has rust and mildew like it’s been there for years , the vent in the bathroom was exposed and COVERED in dust , the borders in the room in some spots were detached from the wall, the window seal was so dusty and the phone in the room didn’t even work, the

This property is completely misrepresented online and does not meet even the most basic standards of hospitality. The room was unclean, the building had a pervasive smell of marijuana, and the shower had no hot water. Breakfast hours were misleading — first communicated as ending at 10, then abruptly changed to 9 without notice. The phone and television in the room were non-functional, and the overall condition of the hotel is severely deteriorated. The advertising photos are deceptive and do not reflect reality. Based on these issues, I believe this constitutes false advertising, and I am formally requesting a full refund. Guests should be warned to avoid this property.

Positive: Did not like the hotel. Negative: It was worn and tired. Ramada has not invested in keeping up the appearance. The first thing you notice is the reception desk is entirely behind a plexiglass window and you speak to the staff through a small opening in the plexiglass. Very inviting!!

I made my reservation clearly stating that the payment would be made only upon check-in. However, the hotel charged the full amount in advance, plus a deposit, without notifying me or requesting authorization. No one called or emailed me before charging my card. The check-in process was fast — and honestly, that was the only positive part of my stay. When I entered the room, the floor was dirty, the toilet paper holder was broken and lying on the floor, and the toilet paper itself was dirty and placed on the sink, clearly having fallen to the floor before. The entire hotel smelled strongly of cigarettes, including the hallways and elevator, even though I specifically booked a non-smoking room. I don’t smoke, and neither I nor my family should be forced to stay in such an environment. I
