This surprise birthday getaway from my husband exceeded my expectations! In this quiet Vermont town this Inn provides comfort, kindness and delicious food. Upon our arrival the Innkeeper gave us a tour of the Inn explaining the dining schedule and the common spaces, including the fact that we can use one of the very unique and challenging Stave puzzles as a fun activity! Our room was spacious yet cozy with the fireplace being the focus of our stay. It was delightful to relax in front of the fire and read or needlepoint. We also were able to snowshoe behind the Inn in the woods and fields which was an unexpected perk. The biggest surprise was the quality of the food, it was delicious! The three course breakfast that was included with the room was spectacular. Kudos to the chef! We

We recently enjoyed our four-night winter getaway, the River Mist room serving as our 'home base' as we explored northern Vermont and nearby New Hampshire. The food was great, the staff was warm and accommodating, and the inn itself was charming and very well maintained. Thank you for having us, we look forward to seeing you all again soon.

Spent a perfect night in the Samuel Hodby room and it was absolutely beautiful and perfect for a couples getaway. This is a beautiful historic Inn, the staff was very kind and welcoming, the 24 Carrot restaurant on-site was amazing, and the location is perfect. They have mastered the whole experience from check-in to the afternoon tea and pastries to the relaxing overall vibe. Coming from nearby Littleton, this is close to lots of things to see and do in the area, but we had no reason to leave once we arrived. The breakfast the next morning topped things off perfectly. We'll definitely be going back for another stay sometime!

A lovely two-night get away. Off season, so very quiet, yet everyone was very cordial and engaging. Our room (River Mist) was one of the smallest ones at the inn but plenty large for two people. (In fact, three quests could have shared it since it had a day bed in an attached room that probably at one time had been a porch.). It served our 80-years old needs—good lighting, comfortable bed, nice wingback chairs for sitting, walk in shower. We had read the reviews saying the food was excellent, but because we both love to cook, often are disappointed after reading that in a review. We were pleasantly surprised. The appetizer we had while sitting at the bar the first night were just what we needed after having a large lunch on our way there. I can’t remember their exact name but on

Incredibly cozy inn!! We stayed here for our babymoon and we had an absolutely amazing time! Everyone at the inn was super duper helpful. They even went and bought us a microwave to ensure that we could heat up food in our room (thanks Alyssa)!! We had a room with an in unit Jacuzzi which my wife soaked in all three nights. The breakfast food was incredible. The 24carrot fine dining place also had delicious food! Will absolutely be coming back to this slice of heaven.
