Quality Inn & Suites Schoharie near Howe Caverns

I waited until the last minute and I needed a place to stay 2 nights so I could be close to SUNY Cobleskill for parents weekend. It was easy to find and right off the highway. I booked the room through a 3rd party website so pricier than I wish. The room had 2 queen beds; I prefer a very firm bed. It was soft, but I slept well. The room and general spaces were clean. The room came with standard amenities; such as microwave, mini fridge, coffee maker, hair dryer and iron. It was a busy weekend with lots of other guest, but I found it to be quiet. It’s pet friendly (for a fee), so I may bring my small dog next time. Breakfast was very simple and understated; as in, waffles, hard boiled eggs, cereal, toast, bagels, donuts, yogurt, coffee and juice. I did find some interesting places to vi

The room was dark and dingy. The towels were not good quality. The hot water in the sink dripped constantly. The refrigerator had no temperature control dial - it was broken off completely and it froze my husband’s medication and the can of dog food. I felt the price was very high for the area. The coffee at breakfast seemed to be instant coffee. There was no plain half and half - only flavored creamer and 2% milk.

Recently stayed at this quality inn. Really only option in the area. Very overpriced. We booked 2 rooms for 2 nights. Rooms were clean. Hallway smelled of weed & cigarettes. Could hear dogs barking in the rooms as we walked down the hall. We liked not having carpeting in the room until we went to bed and could hear EVERY footstep in the room above us. Continental breakfast was a joke. They had a great looking menu of all food items of the buffet when we checked in. Went to get coffee & grab something to eat & it was such a sad display we left immediately. My biggest issue was with housekeeping. Returned to our room on day 2 to find they emptied the trash & folded or gave us clean towels (not sure which) but did not make the bed! They also did not replenish the tissues. We have never been

Stayed here on my trip to Howe caverns, it was clean and the staff was very friendly, for the price the room was very clean and big!! I’ll definitely be back

Should be titled Basic Inn not quality. I don't feel there was anything of quality in any of the items or spaces. It was just basic. The staff was very friendly and eager to please. We had no soap in our room and as soon as we mentioned to the cleaning lady she apologized and corrected the error. The convenience of location was a plus. The price was a bit on the high side, but lower than some other area hotels. I liked the continental breakfast. It had bagels, English muffins, toast butter, jellies, or cream cheese. Choice of fruits, 2 cereals, hard boiled eggs, juices, water, tea, and fresh coffee. The highlight is the waffle maker. There is a machine that you pour the batter into a cup then transfer the batter to the waffle iron, close lid and spin top to bottom. It does the cooking and
