Quality Inn & Suites Gulf Breeze Bayside near Pensacola Beach

The website is so deceiving. This place is more of a flop house than a hotel. We booked two nights based on the pictures and location. Once we arrived, we found our room on the second floor. I am 68 and my sister is 70. There was no way we could lug our luggage up the stairs. We did take a look at the room and it looked like something out of the 60's and it has probably been that long since it had been cleaned. The neighbor had a pit bull, the furniture was old and the sign at the desk said they clean rooms on Tues and Thurs. The tub had worn black duct tape in it - I guess to prevent slipping. At any rate I told them we could not stay there due to our limitations of climbing the steps and carrying the luggage. The refused to give me a refund, saying 'we didn't say we had an eleva

The staff are really good and make a pleasant stay. The building's condition is a bit questionable, which would require more work from the company, but the staff is very good and the price is affordable. Especially the girl who checked me in, she's a 10 of 10 , great customer service !

I enjoyed most the front desk staff. The head groundskeeper also seemed on top of everything. I hope they're recognized with bonuses for their efforts. I was also surprised that given the amenities, the small beach, the restaurant, that I really didn't need to go anywhere. What a nice daytime habitat. My one change, however, is likely a decision made by a higher management level: Placed right upon nature, I was disappointed by the heavy use of cheap, hot-white lights inside and outside. It's evident that the gratuitous use of 3000-4000K+ was a cost cutting measure. Blue in the light makes guests more irritable as it leaks into their rooms and a hazard to local wildlife. DO NOT STAY HERE!!! 59% of Yelp & 40% of Trip Advisor reviews are POOR or TERRIBLE (1 or 2 Stars) with the majority being Terrible see for yourself. The room was extremely worn. Everything was dingy or faded. The curtains were filthy there was a cloud of dust when opened and closed. The bathroom had missing and broken fixtures, shower and toilet were disgustingly dirty I had to personal clean both before use. There was no shampoo or conditioner when I check in. The room was never cleaned the entire time I stayed there. I was charged a room service fee of $6.00 a night plus taxes for a room that was never serviced. I have been staying at this motel for 30+ years. It has gone through several hands in that time. But the current owners have done a great job in updating it and keeping it current. It is very clean with new linens. It is quiet and never any riff raff in there. You cannot go wrong. Just remember it is an older motel and is not the Ritz. But it is clean and the beds are good. The attached restaurant is actually one of the best places in Gulf Breeze to eat.
