Quality Inn Darien-North Brunswick

We just needed a place to shower and sleep for a few hours at a good price. This was a great spot. Right off the interstate, easy to find. Check in was quick. Room was clean and comfortable. Everything was in working order. Just grabbed some juice and coffee (I hate how choice is going to machines instead of fresh brewed as it’s not nearly as good) at breakfast so can’t comment much on that. I don’t think we were there a full 7 hours. Worked great for what we needed. Only minor downfall was the water in the shower didn’t get hot. It wasn’t cold, but more luke warm. It was fine, but would’ve preferred a hot shower after a long day.

The room for the most part was clean, however, there were stains on both bedspreads. Room definitely needs updating.|Breakfast was woeful, coffee was AWFUL, looked like tan colored water, didn't even try it. Orange juice was more water than juice, tangerines what few there were, were mostly bruised. |Would not stay again. Very little places to eat around, only fast food.

The toilet was filthy. Our fir extinguishers were covered with plastic bags. Staff entered our room without permission. Front desk staff were not available at times. Garbage left by front doors overnight. No coffee for breakfast x2 days

Why get into the hotel business if you don't intend on cleaning up the property to attract decent customers. This location isn't too busy to where housekeeping can't thoroughly clean each room.

Roach in eating area, expired yogurt, and mandarins were becoming spoiled. Room was fine, 24 hour coffee good. Outside was clean, but plantings nearly all missing and above doorway was not at all clean. Tables in eating area not cleaned after diners finished. Not generally bad, but needs additional attention. The employees were very kind and efficient. 5 was given because others might not be happy with some of the items listed above.
